2021-22 Budget Overview
The proposed Selectmen Budget is $15,377,798, which is an increase of $458,927 from the previous year or + 3.08%. The proposed Board of Education budget (for Redding Elementary and John Read Middle Schools) is $23,061,038, which is an increase of $487,242 from the previous year or + 2.16%. The total proposed Region 9 Budget (for Joel Barlow High School), which is shared by Easton and Redding, is $24,595,255 or + 1%. Because of a shift in school population, Redding’s share of the proposed Region 9 budget is $12,673,934, which is a decrease of $553,668 from the previous year or - 4.19%.
The total proposed budget increase for Redding is .77%. Due to prior year surplus tax receipts, it’s unclear if the mill rate will change at all.
